The incredible rock/metal extravaganza, Aftershock Festival, is bringing all the heavy hitters in one weekend, and fans from all over the world are scrambling for tickets! Luckily, we have passes right here for Aftershock’s Day 1! The line-up features headliners on Thursday, 5th October 2023 – the metalcore giant Avenged Sevenfold, alternative powerhouse Incubus, and hardcore punk sensations Turnstile! The rest of the line-up also comprises incredible bands like AFI, Nothing But Thieves, The Cult, Pennywise, White Reaper, Senses Fail, and many more! The festival, which takes place in Discovery Park in Sacramento, promises nothing but hits as these performers deliver their high-energy sets. Fans can also look forward to the festival’s many other activities, concessionaires, merch booths, and more! If you love attending music fest, this is your chance to experience the heaviest metal extravaganza of the season!
Critically-acclaimed band Avenged Sevenfold has steadily evolved and turned their metalcore beginnings into their unique brand of progressive metal and hard rock fusion. In 2003, they made their breakthrough with their sophomore effort, Waking the Fallen. The album initially peaked at number 12 on the Independent Albums and number 15 on the Heatseekers charts. But a re-release in 2014 led to the record soaring to number 10 on the Billboard 200. The album spawned the metalcore staple, “Unholy Confessions,” which earned gold in the U.S.
Two years after Waking the Fallen, Avenged Sevenfold dropped their third album, City of Evil, The album is known for showcasing singer M. Shadows’ exemplary vocal range. This is evident in the hit singles “Beast and the Harlot,” “Bat Country,” “Burn It Down,” and “Seize the Day.” Aside from impressive vocals, the album demonstrated outstanding guitar solos from Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance.
California-born alternative rock band Incubus rose to prominence in 1999 with their third album, Make Yourself. The album peaked at number 47 on the Billboard 200. The record, which spawned the band’s biggest hit singles, “Pardon Me” and “Drive,” sold over two million copies in the U.S., earning double platinum status. After their stellar breakthrough, Incubus dropped several more platinum and gold-selling albums Morning View, a Crow Left of the Murder, and Light Grenades. In 2017, they dropped their latest record 8, which peaked at number 4 on the Billboard 200.
Hardcore punk outfit Turnstile made waves in 2018 with their sophomore effort, Time & Space. The critically-acclaimed album, released via Roadrunner Records, topped the Heatseekers chart and peaked at number 15 on the Hard Rock Albums. In 2021, Turnstile debuted on the Billboard 200 with their third album, Glow On. The effort peaked at number 30 on the Billboard 200 and entered the charts in nine other countries. Glow On featured several hits, including “Mystery,” which was the band’s first entry on the Mainstream Rock Hits and Hot Alternative Songs. Last year, they dropped their latest single, “Holiday,” peaking at number 20 on the Mainstream Rock chart. Earlier this year, the band received their first Grammy nominations for “Blackout” and “Holiday,e categorized under Best Metal Performance, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Performance.
